Planning notes
The 2026–2027 Instructional Calendar school calendar begins Aug 12, 2026 and ends May 28, 2027.
Attendance statistics describe the general schedule, not every selected student's intervention attendance. February 15 may become a make-up day. HS ONLY early-release symbols are not districtwide. Spring Early College Academy may adjust dates for Lone Star College schedules; Momentum families should confirm program-specific bell times. Summer program captions do not supply a complete daily student schedule.
Editorial summary
Spring ISD's regular student year runs August 12, 2026-May 28, 2027. Fall Break covers October 12-16 and Thanksgiving Break covers November 23-27. November 2 is a teacher professional-development day with no students, followed by parent-teacher conferences on November 3. The next regular class date is November 4.
Winter Break is December 21-January 1, followed by another no-student professional-development day on January 4. The second semester begins January 5. Mid-Winter Break runs February 15-19. February 15 may be used as a make-up day, so it is not a guaranteed day off. Selected students have intervention on February 16 and 17, and February 19 is marked for parent-teacher conferences. Spring Break is March 15-19; March 26 is a separate Spring Holiday.
December 18 and May 28 are early-release days for all regular-calendar school levels. December 17 and May 27 are early-release days for high schools only. Elementary students dismiss at 12:55 p.m., middle school students at 1:55 p.m. and high school students at noon on their applicable early-release dates. Ponderosa Elementary and Bailey Middle use the separate ACE calendar; Bammel, Major and Heritage elementary schools have an ADSY calendar with additional June-July dates.
Common questions
Students following the regular instructional calendar begin Wednesday, August 12, 2026. This also opens the first semester and grading period. Ponderosa Elementary and Bailey Middle begin August 10 under ACE, so those families should use the separate campus calendar.
Friday, May 28, 2027, is the regular last student day and an early-release half day. It also closes the fourth grading period. ADSY campuses have additional student sessions in June and July, with a separate July 15 last day.
Based on the currently published calendar, the regular schedule has 172 student attendance dates. Spring ISD does not print an annual total. This is a calculated count for the general schedule, including applicable half days; selected-student intervention is separate. Scheduled attendance dates may change if February 15 is used as a make-up day.
The regular Fall Break is Monday, October 12-Friday, October 16. Classes resume Monday, October 19. ACE students have a shorter October 14-16 break; do not use that three-day range for the regular calendar.
Students following the regular calendar are off November 23-27, 2026. The full Monday-Friday week joins the surrounding weekends for nine days without regular classes. The next class date is Monday, November 30.
The official Winter Break is December 21, 2026-January 1, 2027. January 4 is a separate staff-development day with no students. After the December 18 half day, students are out December 19-January 4, including weekends.
Students return Tuesday, January 5, 2027, the first day of the second semester and third grading period. January 4 is still a no-student professional-development day even though the named Winter Break ends January 1.
The regular calendar labels February 15-19 as Mid-Winter Break. February 15 may be used as a make-up day. February 16-19 have no regular districtwide classes, but selected students have intervention February 16-17. The general schedule resumes February 22.
February 15 is inside the regular Mid-Winter Break range, but it may be used as a make-up day. Do not treat it as a guaranteed holiday; student attendance depends on the district's make-up decision.
The regular calendar marks February 16-17 as Intervention Days - select students ONLY. They are not attendance days for everyone. The PDF does not specify selection rules, session hours or transportation; follow your campus's participation instructions.
Spring Break is Monday, March 15-Friday, March 19. The next regular class date is March 22. Friday, March 26, is a separate Spring Holiday, with March 22-25 remaining class dates between the two closures.
No regular classes are scheduled. Spring ISD calls March 26 Spring Holiday. It is distinct from the March 15-19 Spring Break, and the calendar does not list March 26 as a possible make-up day.
December 18, 2026, and May 28, 2027, are early-release half days for all school levels. December 17 and May 27 are marked HS ONLY. Elementary and middle school students should not use the high-school-only dates as their own dismissal changes.
On the applicable half days, elementary schools dismiss at 12:55 p.m., middle schools at 1:55 p.m. and high schools at 12:00 p.m. ACE has its own 1:55 p.m. dismissal. Momentum High School families should confirm their program's schedule directly with the school.
The regular calendar lists November 3, 2026, and February 19, 2027, for parent-teacher conferences with no students. February 19 is already inside Mid-Winter Break, not an extra break date. Conference appointment times are not provided; arrange them through your child's teacher.
November 2 and January 4 are standalone staff-development days with no students. February 16-18 are also staff-development dates inside Mid-Winter Break; selected-student intervention overlaps February 16-17. November 3 and February 19 are conference dates rather than ordinary classes.
No. Monday, January 18, 2027, is listed as Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Regular classes resume Tuesday, January 19.
Report-card distribution and IEP goal updates are listed for October 9, 2026, and January 8, March 12 and June 3, 2027. June 3 falls after the regular May 28 finish. The calendar lists these together without a delivery method or time.
The four grading periods are August 12-October 2, October 5-December 18, January 5-March 5 and March 8-May 28. March 8 starts the fourth period before the March 15-19 Spring Break; a grading-period boundary is not a report-card distribution date.
The calendar marks December 7-11 and 14-18, then April 6-9, 12-16, 19-23 and 26-29 for STAAR/EOC testing. These are marked testing dates, not a daily test requirement for every student. Use your campus's grade and subject assignments.
No. Ponderosa Elementary and Bailey Middle follow ACE; Bammel, Major and Heritage elementary schools have an ADSY calendar. The PDF also warns that Spring Early College Academy may adjust dates to match Lone Star College class schedules.
Regular classes are 8:05 a.m.-3:25 p.m. in elementary schools, 9:05 a.m.-4:25 p.m. in middle schools and 7:10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in high schools/Richey Academy. First-bell transition periods begin ten minutes earlier. Momentum High School families are directed to contact the school for program-specific hours.
The PDF says Spring Early College Academy may have calendar adjustments to accommodate Lone Star College class schedules. Use this district calendar as a reference, but check the academy's notices before relying on a date that affects your student's classes.
The PDF separately lists June 8-July 1 for Pre-K-K EB students and June 8-July 9 as Tentative Summer School. These are program date spans, not a published daily attendance schedule or a requirement for every student. Check campus notices for participation and actual session dates.
Use the Instructional Calendar PDF linked here or the district's Printable Calendars page. ACE and ADSY are separate downloads for named campuses; choose the document that matches your child's school.

The district-hosted Instructional Calendar PDF, revised June 23, 2026, supplies the regular-calendar dates. Report-card distribution and IEP goal updates are listed together.
February 15 is conditional. February 16-19 have no regular classes, with selected-student intervention on February 16-17 recorded separately. No-school statistics describe the general schedule and do not imply that selected students miss intervention. Overlapping entries count once. Staff preparation and summer office closures outside the regular student year are excluded. Grouped or inferred schedule entries remain in events for attendance calculations and are labelled Calculated from calendar in the table, monthly view and subscription export; they do not claim official event titles.
The three district-hosted PDFs were reviewed visually and through text extraction on October 6, 2026. Their revision dates are preserved in the source metadata. The PDFs do not provide approval dates or revision histories. Later district or campus updates may alter make-up arrangements.
