Editorial summary
Some Leander ISD no-school stretches are longer than the named breaks alone. Professional-learning days connect with weekends or student/staff breaks in October, early January, February and late March.
Students are out Sept. 7 and Sept. 21. In October, there is no school Friday, Oct. 9, followed by the Oct. 12–13 student/staff break, giving students five straight days away from class including the weekend. The district's Continuous Improvement Conference on Nov. 2–3 is also a student no-school period, followed later that month by Fall Break from Nov. 23–27.
Dec. 18 is an early-release day. Winter Break runs Dec. 21 through Jan. 1, and Jan. 4 is a professional-learning day with no school, so students return Tuesday, Jan. 5. In February, students are also out Feb. 12 and Feb. 15–16. Spring Break runs March 15–19, followed later in the month by no-school dates on March 26 and March 29.
High schools use a separate A/B calendar. The year begins and ends on A Days, Oct. 20 is marked as a C Day, and the calendar lists six grading periods. The high school PDF also shows April 5–30 as a proposed STAAR testing window, not a test date for every student.

Source and scope
Districtwide dates come from Leander ISD's Academic Calendar Essentials PDF; A/B/C labels, grading-period boundaries and the proposed STAAR window come from the High School PDF. The PDFs were last retrieved October 3, 2026. The official calendar page and approval announcement were checked October 5, 2026; the calendar page supplies school hours and early-release times.
Canonical events keep the distinct no-school dates and reasons shown in the source calendars. October 9 and October 12–13, Winter Break and January 4, February 12 and February 15–16, and March 26 and March 29 remain separate events. The breaks array holds derived student time-off ranges, including intervening weekends. Staff-only summer schedules, board meetings and campus activities outside the academic schedule are excluded.
The Essentials PDF controls districtwide attendance dates; the high school PDF supplements it with schedule-day and grading-period details. Proposed testing dates may change, and campus bell schedules or special programs may publish additional instructions.
