Hallsville ISD Calendar 2026-2027

Students begin Thursday, August 13, 2026. This is the Hallsville campus calendar; Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville publishes a separate calendar.

The regular student year ends Thursday, May 27, 2027, with early release at 12:30 p.m. This is the end of the fourth nine weeks and second semester. Graduation is listed for May 28.

The calendar lists 170 student days: 78 in the first semester and 92 in the second. The two early-release dates are still student attendance days.

No. Monday, September 7, 2026, is the Labor Day holiday. Classes resume Tuesday, September 8.

Fall Break is October 12–16, 2026. October 19–20 are separate Staff Days with no student classes, so students return Wednesday, October 21. Including the weekends, students are off from October 10 through October 20.

Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Hallsville ISD’s Fall Break ends October 16, but students do not attend classes on the October 19–20 Staff Days.

Thanksgiving Break is November 23–27, 2026. Students return Monday, November 30.

Students have no regular classes from December 18, 2026, through January 5, 2027, and return January 6. The official calendar calls December 21–January 1 Christmas Break; December 18 and January 4–5 are separate Staff Days. December 17 is an early-release school day.

Students return Wednesday, January 6, 2027, which is also the beginning of the second semester and third nine weeks. January 4–5 are Staff Days, not student attendance days.

No. Monday, January 18, 2027, is the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

No. Monday, February 15, 2027, is the Presidents’ Day holiday. Students are also off Friday, February 12, for a Staff Day, creating a four-day weekend. Classes resume Tuesday, February 16.

Spring Break runs March 15–19, 2027. Students return Monday, March 22, when the fourth nine weeks begins.

Students are off Friday, March 26, 2027, for Good Friday and Monday, March 29, for a Staff Day. The calendar does not label March 29 as an Easter holiday. Classes resume Tuesday, March 30.

During Hallsville ISD’s student year, Staff Days are October 19–20 and December 18, 2026, plus January 4–5, February 12 and March 29, 2027. There are no regular student classes on those seven weekdays.

Students have early release on Thursday, December 17, 2026, and Thursday, May 27, 2027. Both dates are semester-ending school days.

Hallsville ISD’s calendar gives a 12:30 p.m. release time for December 17, 2026, and May 27, 2027.

The first nine weeks runs August 13–October 9; the second, October 21–December 17; the third, January 6–March 12; and the fourth, March 22–May 27.

The first semester ends December 17, 2026, and the second ends May 27, 2027. Both dates have early release at 12:30 p.m.

The calendar marks December 1–4 and December 7–11, 2026; April 5–9, 12–16, 19–23 and 26–30, 2027; and June 14–18 and June 21–25, 2027. These are testing dates, not a districtwide requirement for every student to test.

Hallsville ISD’s annual calendar does not list grades, subjects or individual testing assignments. Use your child’s campus testing schedule to find the dates that apply.

Testing dates are not listed as student holidays. The June sessions fall after the regular student year, and district/campus offices are scheduled to be closed June 18 and June 25. Check campus instructions for your child’s testing arrangements.

The district calendar lists graduation on Friday, May 28, 2027. It does not give a ceremony time or venue. Hallsville High School announcements will provide those details; TVAH has a separate graduation schedule.

Pre-K and kindergarten registration is July 28, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration for new students in all grades is July 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Bring a lease or rental agreement, or the most recent Harrison County Tax Statement, as proof of residence; utility bills are not accepted. The district also lists the child’s birth certificate, Social Security card and current immunization records; a parent or guardian’s driver’s license or passport; a prior school report card; and any applicable guardianship/legal documents and special-program paperwork.

Online registration opens Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. Parents and guardians complete it through HISD Family Access at family.hisd.com.

East, North and West Elementary hold Meet the Teacher on August 10 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Intermediate holds it August 11 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and Junior High holds it August 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The student and parent meeting is Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the HHS Performing Arts Center.

The calendar lists the community pep rally for Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m.

No. The annual calendar labels June 1–2 as staff make-up days. They are not scheduled as regular student attendance days. A later weather-related change would need a district announcement.
